Our history
For more than 50 years La Química Quirúrgica has been providing products and services to scientific laboratories in Argentina. The company's first activity was the distribution of scientific products (basically chemicals) in laboratories and hospitals.
Yet in 1954 the focus was centred on industrial, universities and R&D laboratories, and the product range had been enhanced to include glassware, filter paper and accessories. During its two first decades of activity, the company developed the distribution of scientific instruments and furniture. From humble beginnings in a small family house, La Química Quirúrgica became the largest independent laboratory supplier in Argentina.
1952 - Founded by Lorenzo Maffeo, Mario Guaglianone and Mario Barneche.
1954 - Exclusive dedication to chemical laboratories.
1958 - Addition of instruments to our product portfolio.
1968 - Definitive location in Saavedra 247, Buenos Aires.
1970 - First distribution agreements with european manufacturers.
1972 - First laboratory workstation.
1990 - Establishment of an own technical service department.
1995 - Fisher Scientific representation.
1999 - ISO 9002 certification for the following scope: "Laboratory supply of equipment, instruments and consumables, technical support and repairs of equipment under warranty"
2002 - 50° anniversary celebration.

Our people
Sales & Marketing
La Química Quirúrgica covers the whole territory of Argentina, serving a wide range of customers from quality control and R&D labs in industries, universities, and research centers. We have sub-dealers in Córdoba, Mendoza and Rosario, and reach the market of Uruguay and Paraguay as well. Our sales representatives visit the most important end-users, keeping them informed on products and applications. We also participate in the most important exhibitions held in Argentina, such as Expo-Arpia, Argentina Oil & Gas, and others. Our projects division take care of the sales and installation of fume hoods and furniture Modulab and Fisher Hamilton. Our Auditorium seats up to 50 people and is equipped for meeting and training purposes. The Demonstration Lab is a real laboratory where we can run demonstrations of our products.

Customer Service
Our customer service is the center of our organization. By phone, fax or e-mail, our representatives serve our customers preparing quotations, processing orders, and being available for any help they would need. We measure the quality of our service based in targeted indicators such as delivery time, shipping performance, returned goods rate, claims-free service, and customer satisfaction.

Technical Service
Our Technical Service Department provides repair, installation and calibration for any instrument we sell. We take care of the manufacturer's warranty, getting our staff factory trained and keeping in inventory the most critic spare parts. We offer agreements of total service, and preventive maintenance. For ISO-registered equipment, we can provide complete documentation and detailed maintenance records for every instrument serviced under any agreement.

Administration, purchasing
Fourteen people bring backup to the front-office staff. They take care of key activities such as finance, documentation, accounts, purchasing (local and imports). They also manage our main 1500 sq.m. warehouse, and our Hazardous materials warehouse, storing, packing, handling and delivering our products, and reaching your lab with our own transportation system.
